Tech Center to Feature Prominently at CISOA Summit

January 28, 2022

2022 CISOA Technology Summit posterAn impressive lineup of presentations from the California Community Colleges Technology Center will be featured at the 2022 CISOA Technology Summit, being held in Ontario, CA, March 20 through March 23.

The annual summit provides the best opportunity for the Technology Center to meet face-to-face with its primary audience from community colleges and districts and showcase systemwide technology developments.

The 2022 event, themed “Navigating the Next Normal,” will feature a total of 13 sessions presented by Tech Center staff, covering activities by the CCC Accessibility Center, CCC Information Security Center, various product teams, as well as implementation and support teams.

One session that is sure to be a hot topic: an anti-fraud discussion delving into technology measures the Tech Center is employing to help colleges combat admissions, enrollment and financial aid fraud. This session will feature information on the process for colleges to report fraud data to the Chancellor’s Office.

Additionally, in a change from the usual slide-based presentation, Executive Director Jennifer Coleman will host a feedback session titled, “Let’s Talk Tech Center Tools.” In this open forum, attendees will be invited to share their ideas on how the Tech Center can continue to improve partnerships through continuously improving the products and services colleges currently use or would consider adopting.

The feedback session is part of Coleman’s effort, outlined in a recent interview, to rebuild relationships that have suffered from the loss of the Tech Center’s traditional communication channels, and to begin promoting Tech Center products and services as a full spectrum offering.

The CISOA conference, held each spring, is a partnership between the Chief Information Systems Officers Association of the California Community Colleges, 3CBG, 4CUG, and AWS. It is the premier annual gathering of IT professionals and college administrators systemwide. More information about the conference is available at the CISOA website.
