CCC Education Planning InitiativeThe Education Planning Initiative (EPI) is making progress toward identifying the essential workings of the Student Services Portal and the Educational Planning Tool/Degree Audit System (EPT/DAS).

The pilot colleges and student services portal steering committees have been collaborating with each other and diligently gathering specifications and system requirements to maintain a solid track in the development of the sophisticated technology that will ultimately drive the EPI.

Weekly meetings that inform everyone involved with the EPI continue to take place. The next face-to-face meeting is slated for the first week of September.

Presentation Garners Interest

In addition, the EPI Project Team presented at the joint CHUGADUG/3CDUG regional conference for Datatel Users Groups from the CCCs, UCs and CSUs, held at Hartnell College in Salinas, July 30 to July 31. The presentation informed attendees about the progress of EPI and included a lively Q&A session.

Indicative of the questions raised by a number of inquisitive and curious attendees, the presentation was well received, and it became apparent that there is still a lot of work needed to adequately inform the whole system about the EPI as well as educate the many stakeholders concerned about the Common Assessment Initiative (CAI) and the Online Education Initiative (OEI).

The EPI Project Team will stay the course and continue to reach out to as many stakeholders as possible to keep folks aware of its progress and the ongoing progress of the CAI and OEI.
