collegebuys logo 2017The Foundation for California Community Colleges, through its CollegeBuys program, continues to expand opportunities for continued cost savings for technology projects statewide.

Partnering with the California State University (CSU), the Foundation recently secured agreements with AT&T and Alcatel Lucent Enterprise (ALE), which provide discounts of up to 74 percent for ALE OmniSwitch switching and routing equipment and network management software products, and discounts of 60 percent for maintenance. In addition, AT&T is the exclusive provider of the following Baseline Services: Design Engineering; Deployment; Operations Support; Contract and Administrative; Equipment, Software and Maintenance Sourcing.

CSU adopted the OmniSwitch data networking product as its standard data switch product for 22 CSU campuses in 2012. Over the last five years CSU, AT&T and ALE have migrated thousands of data switches to the new OmniSwitch standard with outstanding results. These campus networks are now supported by the newest leading-edge technology and have saved over $100 million versus CSU’s previous supplier.

These same leading-edge data switches are now available to all California community colleges at the same volume purchase discount as the CSU through the new Foundation/AT&T master agreement.
