Zoom Account Expanded, Resources Available

October 31, 2022

ConferZoomAs announced via Slack in August, the California Community Colleges Technology Center has expanded its Zoom account to allow webinars with up to 1,000 connections.

The expansion will allow for larger Tech Center webinars, meetings and events expected in 2022-23 and beyond, and it represents an ongoing relationship with ConferZoom, a service of CCC TechConnect. Like the Tech Center, CCCTechConnect is part of the Chancellor’s Office Ed Tech Portfolio as funded by the Digital Innovation and Infrastructure division.

The Tech Center’s 1,000-connection webinar license can only be used for one meeting at a time. For this reason, Tech Center IT has established a Google Calendar that allows personnel to reserve the license for larger events.

Please refer to this pinned message in Slack for specific instructions on how to reserve the license. Included in the message is a link to the Tech Connect Webinar Guide, which has a robust set of support documents for all things Zoom webinar.

In addition, earlier this year, the Tech Center Comm Team and members of various Tech Center project teams had the pleasure of completing a comprehensive Zoom training with the Foundation for California Community Colleges Events Team.

The training was supported by extensive documentation, including best practices, guides and sample communication documents. These documents and the slide deck from the training have been compiled to a Google Drive that is available for all Tech Center personnel.

We acknowledge and recognize the work of CCC Tech Center administrative and IT leadership in securing this expanded license, standing up a scheduling calendar and providing support documentation. Our ongoing outreach events will surely benefit as we expect wider participation and more effective engagement.
