CISOA 2010 Speakers Address CCC IT Issues

Dr. Jack Scott, Chancellor of the California Community Colleges
Three luminaries important to the California Community Colleges system will be featured speakers at the CISOA 2010 annual conference.
The conference, held this year in Ontario, will begin with a free Sunday pre-conference on IT Security and Risk Management on March 21st at noon. A complete conference schedule is available for download from the Chief Information Systems Officers Association (CISOA) site.
Dr. Jack Scott, Chancellor of the California Community Colleges, will be the first speaker, presenting the conference opening address at the dinner on Sunday evening. Dr. Scott will address the most pressing issue affecting California, the statewide budget and what it means for California Community Colleges.
Dr. Scott, a former state senator, was unanimously selected as the 14th Chancellor of the California Community Colleges by the Board of Governors of the California Community Colleges. He has served as Chancellor since January 2009.

Joanne McNabb, Chief of the Office of Privacy Protection, State of California
Joanne McNabb, Chief of the Office of Privacy Protection for the state of California will be speaking on data protection. She will present her talk, “Protecting Privacy in a Sea of Data,” during the lunch hour on Monday.
McNabb is a Certified Information Privacy Professional, co-chair of the International Association of Privacy Professionals Government Working Group, serves on the Privacy Advisory Committee to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and is a Fellow of the Ponemon Institute. McNabb also has more than 20 years experience in public affairs and marketing, in both the public and private sectors.
Respected nationally for leading the way on privacy legislation, McNabb is described as witty, a hard worker, a quick study and a person who is good at conducting difficult conversations.

Dr. Robert Bramucci, Vice Chancellor of Technology and Learning Services, South Orange County Community College District
Dr. Robert Bramucci, Vice Chancellor of Technology and Learning Services at South Orange County Community College District, will speak during the Monday night dinner. Dr. Bramucci will incorporate his talent for jazz guitar into his address on Technology in Education, “Are We Looking the Wrong Way? Lessons from Geese and Genghis Khan.”
Bramucci, the former District Dean of the Open Campus at Riverside Community College District, is a nationally-known speaker and author. Dr. Bramucci holds a Ph.D. in experimental psychology from Washington State University, a M.A.P. in industrial and organizational psychology from the University of Arkansas, and a B.S. in psychology from Arkansas State University.
Other spotlight sessions will discuss IT Security and Risk Management, eDiscovery and Accreditation. Member-led sessions will bring individual experience and expertise to the remainder of the schedule.
