Last Updated on Wednesday, 08 September 2010 Written by Sandoval Chagoya Monday, 09 August 2010
EDUCAUSE has issued a call for presentation proposals for its 2011 West/Southwest Regional Conference. The conference takes place February 22-24, 2011 in Austin, Texas. The deadline for proposals is September 7.
Presenters are invited to contribute to a leading higher education IT conference and help to create an innovative and informative program. The conference combines the West and Southwest regions of EDUCAUSE, and presenters have the opportunity to make valuable contacts and gain recognition for themselves and their institutions achievements. The conference will also be delivered online so presenters can expect global exposure.
The EDUCAUSE 2011 West/Southwest Regional Conference is designed to allow attendees to:
- Connect with innovators and forward thinkers to learn about current and emerging best practices in higher education information services.
- Collaborate with others in similar positions to exchange experiences and explore ways to tackle common challenges.
- Contribute experience to help the common good of higher education through discussion sessions and networking opportunities.
A message from the conference Program Committee explains the conference theme: "As higher education continues to struggle with doing more with less, this year's conference, "Leading IT into the Future in Transformative Times," will bring to light new ways of leading and managing the enterprise and involving students in the teaching and learning process. We will explore how to be more effective, efficient, and innovative in engaging students and measuring their success; how to break down campus silos and collaborate in this new environment; and how to prepare future CIOs and IT leaders for the role they will play in these ever-changing times."
The conference program will follow four key tracks:
- The Leadership Journey
- Student Engagement and the Learning Experience
- Transcending Silos: System Integration and Collaboration in the Enterprise
- Corporate and Campus Solutions
The West/Southwest Regional Conference is designed for higher education IT professionals who work in the following professions:
- administration,
- cybersecurity,
- information systems,
- information technology infrastructure,
- IT leadership and management,
- library systems,
- policy,
- and teaching and learning.
The conference will take place at the Hilton Austin, and a concurrent online delivery of the conference will allow attendance by those who cannot attend in person. Preconference seminars begin the morning of February 22, with the full conference program February 22–24, 2011.<>
