Online Teaching Certification: Enrolling Now
Last Updated on Tuesday, 10 August 2010 Written by Sandoval Chagoya Tuesday, 10 August 2010
@ONE is offering a new Online Teaching Certification Program designed to help instructors excel in the digital age. The program is affordable, comprehensive and flexible enough to fit a busy schedule.
@ONE developed its Online Teaching Certification Program in response to growth in online course enrollments, dwindling professional development budgets and students that are plugged into a digital society. The program is taught by premier instructors in online education who use techniques that increase student success and retention rates.
The certification program is specifically tailored to meet the needs of California Community Colleges faculty, but it is also offered to faculty at universities, K-12 and graduate students in education.
@ONE offers two ways to participate: Through the @ONE standard certification program, or through a custom certification program for your campus.
The @ONE standard certification program is based on the International Association for K-12 Online Learning (iNACOL) National Standards for Quality Online Teaching. The custom certification program provides a path to certification that meets the unique needs of individual campuses.
The @ONE Online Teaching Certification Program offers flexible scheduling, allowing participants to attend online or in face-to-face sessions or both. Core certification courses are offered at least three times per year, in the fall, spring and summer semesters, and the entire certification program can be completed in a year or less.
Perhaps the certification program’s most important feature, considering the current budget climate, is its affordability. The program can be completed for as little as $400 for California educators and slightly higher for non-California educators. The program is offered at this low price because it leverages grant funding from the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office.
To express interest in the @ONE Online Teaching Certification Program, send an e-mail to certification@onefortraining.org or visit the website at http://www.onefortraining.org/certification.
