ET4Online Early Bird Registration Closing Soon

The Emerging Technologies for Online Learning Symposium (ET4Online) will be closing Early Bird registration on June 30, 2010.
ET4Online is a joint symposium of the Sloan Consortium and Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching (MERLOT) with MoodleMoot. The symposium focuses on the technologies that drive online learning effectiveness and highlights research, applications and best practices of important emerging technology tools.

Presentation highlights will include the following:
- Ellen D. Wagner, Partner/Sr. Analyst, Sage Road Solutions, LLC will deliver the keynote address, “Back to the Future Like Never Before.”
- Plenary Speaker, Milton Chen, Senior Fellow, The George Lucas Educational Foundation will speak on “Education Nation: Six Leading Edges of Innovation in our Schools.”
- The closing address, “Emerging Technologies for What? Desinging Programs for Revolutionary Learning” will be given by Lisa Dawley, Ph.D., Professor and Chair, Department of Educational Technology, Boise State University.
For those who can not travel to San Jose, there is a Virtual Attendee Option for individuals and institutions to attend select sessions of the Emerging Technologies for Online Learning Symposium, including keynote, plenary, closing session, numerous featured and best in track presentations, as well as a virtual exhibit hall from the live event in San Jose, California.

State of California employees can receive a waiver of tax on hotel reservations at The Fairmont San Jose with valid government identification. California residents can attend virtually for $99 rather than $150.
The symposium is a partnership between the Sloan Consortium, MERLOT and MoodleMoot.
The Sloan Consortium (Sloan-C) is an institutional and professional leadership organization dedicated to integrating online education into the mainstream of higher education, helping institutions and individual educators improve the quality, scale and breadth of online education. Membership in the Sloan Consortium provides knowledge, practice, community and direction for educators. Originally funded by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, Sloan-C is now a non-profit, member sustained organization.

MERLOT is a free and open online community of resources designed primarily for faculty, staff and students of higher education from around the world to share their learning materials and pedagogy. MERLOT is a leading edge, user-centered, collection of peer reviewed higher education, online learning materials, catalogued by registered members and a set of faculty development support services.
MoodleMoot is a conference dedicated to users, developers and administrators of Moodle, and open-source Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
