@ONE, OEI Integration Underway

Professional development through @ONE@ONE continues to make progress toward complete integration with the California Community Colleges (CCC) Online Education Initiative (OEI). @ONE will join OEI at Foothill-De Anza Community College District (FHDA) beginning July 1, 2017.

The move will place @ONE within the OEI’s management, and streamline services by building on synergies between two initiatives that have a shared focus on faculty and staff professional development. Furthermore, as taxpayer funded institutions, the move is geared toward optimizing resources available to support the CCC by minimizing redundancies.

Recognizing @ONE’s successes over the past two decades, the OEI is committed to sustaining its successes in methodically creating a more dynamic @ONE. The OEI, known for its innovative approach to using technology in maximizing impacts, will serve to further reinforce @ONE infrastructure – with an aim to provide expanded benefits to faculty and staff of California’s community colleges. A significant step toward building a successful @ONE at FHDA is the selection of committed, mission-driven staff.

Staff Recruitment Effort

Over the past two weeks, FHDA began competitive recruitment for two Faculty Coordinator positions that will be part of the @ONE leadership team with the OEI, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2017. Interested individuals may review the posting through the links below, or visit FHDA Employment/Careers:

Faculty Professional Development Coordinator: Instructional Development

On other fronts, FHDA and OEI leadership are continuing to collaborate with CCC TechConnect to finalize the work plan and structure for @ONE going forward. This will include the OEI professional development and course review components as a major focus, and will also address providing and scaling other professional development objectives to faculty and staff across the state.
