Chancellor Oakley To Keynote At OTC’17

Chancellor Eloy Ortiz Oakley, California Community CollegesCalifornia Community Colleges (CCC) Chancellor Eloy Ortiz Oakley has been confirmed as a keynote speaker for the Online Teaching Conference, running June 19-21, 2017, in Anaheim, Calif. Oakley is scheduled to speak at 8:30 a.m. on the last day of the conference.

Oakley, who became CCC Chancellor in December 2016, most recently was Superintendent-President of the Long Beach Community College District. There, he helped form the Long Beach College Promise initiative, a partnership of public K-12 and higher education that prepares elementary students to succeed in college, and provides financial incentives for staying on track through transfer from community college to a four-year program.

The Long Beach College Promise initiative later became a model for the national College Promise Campaign, now headed by Martha Kanter, who will also be a keynoter at OTC’17. The full conference program can be viewed here.

Conference Pricing

Early-bird registration for OTC’17 has ended but tickets are still available at the regular conference rate of $325 until June 8. After that, pricing goes up to $375 while space remains. Click here to register for OTC’17.

Full conference registration includes breakfast, lunch, evening receptions on Monday and Tuesday, and an ice cream social.

Specially priced Disney Theme Park tickets are also available for registered attendees.

Pre-Conference Workshops

Pre-conference workshops will be held on Monday, June 19, at the Hilton Anaheim. Full and half-day options are available. Space is limited.
